Description of Course
The general music class will provide for a greater understanding of the elements of music (rhythm, melody, harmony, form, timbre, tempo, dynamics). This will take place through learning to play the ukulele. Instructional time will be spent learning proper technique in playing ukulele and practicing the skills being taught. Students will use concert size ukuleles that will be assigned to each individual for classroom use.

Grading and Homework
All assignments will be completed in class. Students will be given time to complete assignments in class and will not have homework assigned. Each student will receive points for each assignment completed and the final grade will be a calculation of those points earned. There will be a playing assignment each week that will coincide with the objective of the week. Playing the small melodies and songs will count for the largest portion the grade of the class. If for any reason a student would like to retake a playing test for a better grade that can be scheduled with Mr. Bond during AE time.
