BYOD program

All students from Year 7 onward will be required to have their own device. If purchasing a new device select one with a full operating system (Mac OS or Microsoft Windows) as this well become mandatory by 2022. Complete information about the program and requirements, as well as technical requisites of the devices, are available on the BYOD Portal on the Scopus website. Please ensure you read it in full before purchasing a device for your child.

Books / e-learning resources

For certain year levels the resources will contain options of eBooks or hard copy books. At the start of the new school year secondary students will be directed how to gain access to their electronic textbooks. There will also be a step-by-step guide published on our BYOD Portal. Unless directed on the booklist, it is a family’s choice whether a hard copy text book is purchased in addition to eBooks.

Please review the list of required apps which should be downloaded to your child's device before they commence school, which is on the portal.

It is the responsibility of students and parents to ensure that elective subjects have been confirmed prior to purchasing the text resources.

NB: Students will require their College email address to be able to access and download their e-learning resources. The email address is also required for parents to set up their child's account on the bus portal. This will be provided to families in mid- January.

Book supplier

Campion Books is the designated supplier for Mount Scopus Memorial College. Booklists for all year levels for 2020 are now available.

Click here to access the full details of the resource ordering process.

There is a lot of information pertaining to this process so please read carefully and follow the Campion account set up in sequence.

Orders placed before Friday 13 December include free home delivery.

Years 7 and 8 lists

There are two booklists listed for each of Year 7 and Year 8. One is for Hebrew Immersion Students only and one is for all other students. This has been designed to remove any confusion about what resources are required for each stream.

Second-hand books

With the growth of eBooks and on-line second hand book services, the College is no longer able to viably offer its own service. Some text books may be available through the Second Hand Uniform shop at FKI (contact Yvonne Fayman on yfayman@scopus.vic.edu.au) or through the Scopus VCE Book Exchange, a peer-to-peer Facebook group run by VCE students. If considering purchasing second-hand through any source, please note any instructions on the booklist about restrictions on buying second-hand items (mainly workbooks) and the eBook requirement, as eBook licenses are generally not re-saleable.

Electives

Throughout the secondary school years students are able to nominate electives or subject choices. These choices need to be submitted during the course of Term 3.

All new students will be sent information pertaining to subject choices at the appropriate time.
