WOW Word Week 24 Friday 20th March
The opposition tried their best to annoy our team, they jeered us provocatively.
The Formula One car hurtled along the course with great speed.
The injured dog hobbled along awkwardly.
The uncontrollable inferno caused mass destruction and killed numerous crops.
I enjoyed the meal but unfortunately, I thought the waitress was very curt with us,
'What is going to happen to David?' Maria asked her father earnestly.
The predatory fox lurked in the background as the clueless rabbit hopped straight into his path.
I seldom go to Supervalu, I sometimes go to Aldi but I nearly always go to Lidl.
People all over the world are experiencing disquiet and anxiety about the spread of the CoronaVirus, it is natural to feel like this.
'Do you like reading books that feature mean spirited and ill - natured characters? Should every book have a Scrooge type character?' asked the teacher.
"Whatcha staring at?” Jimmy bellowed at Sam provocatively as he hurtled along on a quad. Sam resisted the temptation to react but wondered where he had got the quad from. Sam hobbled away, with his trademark limp. Sam’s leg had been badly burnt in that inferno that swept through his farm years ago when he attempted to salvage his cattle from near death.
Sam didn’t deserve to have Jimmy as a neighbour, nobody did. Jimmy was a despicable man who was ill – natured to everyone he met. He was a curt and brash man, the complete antonym to Sam. Jimmy seldom worked an honest day’s work and instead, he lurked around neighbour’s farms trying to steal anything he could. By contrast, Sam was an earnest, hard working man who did his best for his family. The way Jimmy lived caused Sam a lot of disquiet but his wife always pointed out that spiteful, malicious men like Jimmy were not worth thinking about.
