What is VirtualSC?

VirtualSC is a free state-sponsored online program serving students currently attending public, private and home schools in grades 6-12 and Adult Education Programs.

Virtual SC partners with schools across the state, including CASC. Typically, Virtual SC is only used when students need to catch up on credits, or when credit recovery is needed over the summer. Students must complete an application with CASC that acknowledges that students understand the academic policies, dates, deadlines and exam policies associated with Virtual SC courses. Completing the CASC application is NOT the same as registering for a Virtual SC course. Students must also complete Virtual SC registration through the Virtual SC website.

Please note that students may not take any End-of-Course Exam (EOC) course via Virtual SC. These courses are: English 1, Algebra 1, US HIstory, and Biology 1. These courses must be taken with CASC and the EOC exam must be taken in person through CASC. 

Students wanting to take courses through Virtual SC must speak with their counselor prior to registration. The CASC application DOES NOT register students for Virtual SC, but is a record for the school counselors. Students must also register for courses via Virtual SC during the registration windows.
