Kayla Coats - Science

My name is Kayla Coats and I teach 7th grade science! This is my 18th year teaching and my 5th year at SCA. I am married to SCA Baseball Coach Buck Coats, and together we have 3 children. I love sports, especially baseball and football. My favorite teams are the LSU Tigers, Atlanta Braves & Cincinnati Bengals! In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family, especially to Disney World! I also love cooking, reading, and attending baseball games. I believe in having hands-on fun while learning, and I am looking forward to another great year in 7th grade science!

Robyn Carroll - ELA

My name is Robyn Carroll, and I will be your child’s English language arts teacher! This is my 9th year teaching and my 6th year at SCA. I have a passion for fusing technology with high quality instruction to make an impact on your child’s learning in a meaningful and lasting way. I live in a farm house that is over 100 years old, and I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 4 chickens! Some of my favorite activities include thrifting unique clothing, reading awesome books on my Kindle, and hiking/kayaking. I look forward to a wonderful school year!

Kim Kudyk - Math

My name is Kim Kudyk. I am beginning my 15th year of teaching and my second year teaching 7th grade math at SCA. I have been married to my husband, Nick, for 27 years and we have three children: Chandler (Magan), Lydia, and Lauren. I enjoy teaching math and how it is relevant to our everyday lives. I enjoy reading and love to cook for my family and friends in my spare time. I look forward to working with each of you this year!

Margaret Smith - Social Studies

My name is Margaret Smith and I teach 7th grade Social Studies! This is my 3rd year teaching and my 1st year at SCA! I am so excited to be moving back after four years in McDonough, GA. I have been married to my husband, Joshua, for 3 years. We welcomed our first daughter, Emersyn, into the world this June! I love spending time with family, friends, my pups, and the outdoors. My favorite thing about teaching is hands on learning, incorporating technology into our lessons, and overall having fun! I am so excited to meet each of you and looking forward to a wonderful year!


Lissi Ferguson - intervention specialist

My name is Lissi Ferguson, I am the Special Education Intervention Specialist for grades 7-9. I am an Arizona native and love doing all things outdoors--swimming, hiking, biking, and tennis.  I moved to Valdosta a little over a year ago with my husband Garrett, our two year old son, GB, our two dogs and two cats. This will be my 8th year teaching and I am so elated to be back teaching middle grades!  I am looking forward to building relationships and am excited to work with families to support our scholar's unique abilities.
