Welcome to the Hybrid Teaching Toolbox!
Managing classes for In-Person and At-Home students presents many challenges that we have not encountered before. As educators, we know that our students are all different and have their own individual needs. We also have a district filled with unique educators who have a vast array of teaching styles, methods, and interests. This Toolbox has been created to equip teachers with models, examples, and samples of ways to approach this school year when our students are learning in two different places at once.
Think of this Toolbox in the following ways:
This is a barebones kit to start. More tools will be added over time!
Not all tools will work for all jobs. Find the one that works for your needs at the time.
Some tools are versatile, think of all the things you can do with a screwdriver!
Sometimes we grab the wrong tool. That's OK, just go find another one.
Tools can be shared and borrowed! Being virtual, you don't even have to track them down later.
Tools take practice to get good with them. Ask for help if needed.
Most jobs require the use of multiple tools. Don't be afraid to switch between as needed.
There are two main features of this site that will grow over time. The Model Summaries pages offer quick snapshots of each of the tools. Check these out to get an brief idea for inspiring your own classroom. The Example Schedules page has detailed schedules for how some of these tools would look over the course of a day or class period.
As a final note, we are looking into adding the ability to easily add any tools that you would like to share!
