UPDATE: YOUTH SUMMIT IS AT CAPACITY
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
Youth Summit NYC 2022 is Here!
The DOE Students and Educators for Equity (SEE) and DOE Youth Restorative Justice (YRJ) invite you to register for the annual citywide Youth Summit. The summit will take place from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., at Beacon High School in Manhattan, on June 9, 2022.
Co-led by students, the in-person summit elevates youth voices and civic participation by empowering students and adults to work in partnership to understand disproportionality in all forms, while providing restorative practices to address and dismantle it. Attendees will have opportunities to learn, connect, collect resources, and identify best practices to bring back to their schools, offices, and other organizations.
What is Youth Summit NYC?
Students and Educators for Equity (SEE) and Youth Restorative Justice (YRJ) aim to bring together a collective of student voices to highlight the effects of disproportionality on students, while providing best practices to address and dismantle disproportionality. Through a youth-led summit, we elevate student perspectives in an effort to foster inclusive, humanizing, and critical learning environments for all members of our school communities.
The 2022 Youth Summit is filled with creativity! We'll be showcasing a number of performances and artwork from youth all across NYC.

YRJ is a family that truly values community, and she's very grateful to have been given the opportunity to be part of YRJ! It's a chance to create new, genuine connections with likeminded individuals, better oneself, both as a restorative justice practitioner and as a person in general, and learn so many useful skills that can be used in all aspects of life. To her, restorative justice is a set of practices and principles centered around actively building, sustaining, and supporting a community in a way that values each and every community member for who they are.
