Submissions for The Star Spectator are accepted all year. We love to discover and share great writing and encourage all students to submit their work regardless of enrollment in the Newspaper Writing Crew Class.
Specific to the two areas we accept submissions in:
Articles: Freelance articles are always welcomed and will be considered for publication in our digital newspaper. Guest pieces should be from 150 words to 350 words and may be edited for style.
Creative Writing: We accept original poetry, essays, and short stories. Writers may submit a maximum of 3 poems per submission or one longer piece of writing (maximum 1,000 words).
General to all submissions:
All writing should be submitted in one of the Google Forms below.
Accompanying images, such as clip art or photos, should be shared through Google Drive with jward19@schools.nyc.gov.
