The Portal by New Visions is a data, collaboration, and planning tool for student success. It is utilized by: schools, districts, central teams, and CBOs.
Key Portal functionality for the Office of Students Pathways includes:
Progress monitoring of key metrics, linking student-level profiles to dashboards that show school, district, and citywide-data on the Vital Few Metrics.
Identify patterns, disaggregate by grade, subgroup, or program to spot who needs more targeted support.
Supports planning and accountability, informs advising caseloads, goal-setting, and district progress monitoring.
Up-to-date data that is pulled from STARS daily, sends to STARS weekly - no manual exports by users necessary.

All STARS-derived data in the Portal is PULLED from STARS on a daily basis and SENT to STARS on weekly basis, over the weekend.
Users should not expect to see data entered in STARS reflected in the Portal on the same day. It should be added by the next day.
Other key sources of Postsecondary daily information include CUNY, HESC, and the Office of Student Pathways for Yes/No KIMS, those are referenced when relevant in the data guide.
