On Friday May 19th, 2023, His Excellency Ambassador Brian C.M. Wallace the permanent representative for Jamaica, his administrative assistant Mr. Jiovan Halstead and Christie Saint- Vil of the Mayor's Office of International Affairs, visited with our Junior Ambassadors. The meeting took place in the school's library and staff members included a representative from our administrative team Ms. Michelle Buitrago, joined in the discussion.
The students asked questions about the ambassador's role in the United Nations, his day-to-day job duties, motivation to work with other nation states on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) adopted by the United Nations and his government's attempts to meet SDG 1 - No Poverty and SDG 2 - Zero Hunger- achieving food security, improved nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture for ALL, in his home country of Jamaica by 2030. The students and staff welcomed him with a handmade banner and a poster board describing the work done in the afterschool program.
