The capstone project for the Junior Ambassadors at Ditmas JHS 62 for the 2022-2023 school year is three -folded, it includes a website for the afterschool club, a podcast and a fundraiser for UNICEF who is working to end poverty and food insecurity for children and families around the world. On our school's cultural day which was held on Friday May 26th, 2023, a podcast was released about the Junior Ambassadors Program, their projects and the importance of addressing SDG1 and SDG2. The staff and students of the Junior Ambassadors’ club partnered with the cultural day committee and a Social Studies teacher to produce the podcast. At Ditmas on cultural day, countries and cultures are celebrated with a fashion show, musical acts from different parts of the world. After the event, teachers were encouraged to bring the information to students and join the ambassadors in spreading the word about making a difference in the world by doing some to address issues related to:
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 1) - Ending poverty in ALL its forms.
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 2)- achieving food security, improved nutrition and promoting
sustainable agriculture for ALL people.
