Message from Kerri Moser, Principal of Marine Park JHS 278
September 2025
Dear Marine Park JHS 278 Community,
As summer sunsets give way to the crisp energy of fall, I’m thrilled to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year at Marine Park JHS 278! We are ALL-IN; motivated, united, and focused on student achievement because when our students WIN, we all win!
A heartfelt welcome to the Class of 2028! You're now part of a vibrant and caring school family, and we can’t wait to watch you thrive academically, socially, and emotionally on your journey to high school and beyond.
This year, we proudly introduce several dynamic new staff members whose passion and expertise will amplify the learning experience in our classrooms. Alongside our returning team of dedicated professionals, we’re building an atmosphere grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and bold innovation.
We believe education is a true partnership. Families, your involvement is the heartbeat of our success. Whether attending parent-teacher conferences, volunteering for school events, or simply checking in with your child daily as your connection matters. Be sure to visit our school website www.marineparkis278.org for important dates, updates, and community happenings. When we work together, we create a culture of shared achievement and purpose.
Middle school is a time of transformation and we are ALL-IN holding our students to high academic expectations, nurturing them with care and compassion, and guiding them through every challenge and triumph. Our educators are committed to developing resilient learners who are prepared not just for high school, but for leadership in a world that needs their voices.
Safety and well-being remain at the forefront of our priorities. Through the NYCPS Safer Access initiative, we continue to operate a secure entry system: all school doors will remain locked during the day, and visitors are asked to schedule appointments in advance and bring valid identification for entry through our new doorbell system. To schedule your visit, please contact our amazing Parent Coordinator, Melissa Barr, at mbarr7@schools.nyc.gov.
Please take a moment to review and complete the parent responsibilities listed below via Google Forms. This handbook outlines student and family expectations for the year, aligned to our Chancellor’s Pillars, District 22 Goals, and our school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP). Each school day includes 45-minute instructional periods that power our students' growth.
Let’s commit to being ALL-IN—in heart, in action, in belief for every student to WIN academically, socially, and emotionally. When we lift together, we rise together. We are Marine Park JHS 278 STRONG, UNITED, and ALL-IN to WIN.
Wishing you a joyful, safe, and exceptional school year ahead!
Warm regards,
Kerri Moser
