The Midwood Jazz Band Club ("The Swingin' Hornets") is a student-organized big-band style jazz performing ensemble that meets twice a week after-school in room B19 (the back band room). A goal of the club is to provide a creative space for students to improve their playing skills in a jazz style and take part in performing and organizing music-centered events. 

The band has quickly become Midwood's most frequently-performing ensemble through collaboration at a variety of events throughout the school year. 

Dedicated Midwood student musicians interested in performing jazz are encouraged to sit in with the band at an upcoming club meeting to see if it's a good fit. The band meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10th and/or 11th period (2:45-4:30pm) in room B19. 

All instruments are welcome (including guitar, bass, voice, strings, etc.)
