DRUMLINE
The Midwood Drumline is a marching percussion ensemble consisting of snare drum, bass drum, tenor drums, and cymbals. The drumline can perform in a parade/marching context, as a stationary ensemble, or integrated into a concert band setting.
The percussion section from the Midwood Wind Ensemble and some additional select student percussionists make up the drumline. The ensemble currently rehearses Fridays 8:00-9:00am in room B19 (adjacent from the main band room) in collaboration with percussion instructors from BK Steppers (see below).
bK Steppers Marching Arts Residency
In the 2024-25 school year, the Midwood band program joined forces with BK Steppers Marching Arts for a unique residency partnership. Expert percussion instructors McKenzie Squires and Declan Hayden from BK Steppers visit Midwood on a weekly basis for specialized drumline lessons.
