Welcome Messages

A Message from NYC DOE Chancellor Meisha Porter

"Congratulations to our talented student visual artists and performers for the exemplary work they have accomplished during such a challenging year. I would also like to extend my gratitude to their talented teachers, families, and committed school leaders for their continued support of rigorous arts programming in their schools.

I applaud the artistic accomplishments of all our students across the city and look forward to making a continuous, rigorous, inclusive arts education a reality for all New York City public school students. "

MOVING IMAGE

This is an experimental project. The images included within this montage are meant to convey the emptiness and overall bleakness of the situation that we were thrust into over a year ago. I wanted to force viewers to experience the eerily quiet inactivity out in the streets juxtaposed with the solitude students were experiencing in their homes. I wanted to showcase the day-to-day changes that have been felt by millions of people around the world. I wanted to capture the overall feeling of quiet and emptiness we were all forced to endure.

Thank you!
