Red Zone

I am in the red zone.

When you are in the red zone, you are feeling angry. You might be feeling mad. You might be feeling afraid.

Here are some clues your body might be showing you:

  • You might be yelling

  • You might be hitting

  • You might be feeling out of control.

It's important when you are in the red zone that you are being careful to keep yourself and others safe. Take a moment to take a deep breath and ask yourself: am I being safe?

Here are some things to do to help you get into the green zone:

  • Talk to someone

  • Take a break

  • Use a stress ball

  • Size of the problem

  • Take deep breaths

Size of the Problem Reflection

Sometimes, after we've calmed down, it's good to think about the size of the problem, to help us know how big our reaction to the problem should be.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • How many people are involved or affected by this problem?

  • Is there a physical injury or upset feelings? How big is the injury and how many upset feelings do you have?

  • Is the problem over, or still happening?

  • Are you in danger?

Sometimes, we need a partner...

You might be feeling like you just need to talk to someone, and that's okay. Use this form to contact someone at school, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
