Welcome to the homepage for Drexel University and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's high-altitude ballooning team. The Devil Dragon Balloon Team is a collaborative high school–university partnership focused on high-altitude research and engineering. The team designs, builds, and launches scientific payloads on stratospheric balloon flights, providing students with hands-on experience in atmospheric science, engineering design, and data analysis. Through this program, students develop technical skills, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to real-world research projects that reach the edge of space. Devil Dragon Balloon Team is advised by Alissa Sperling (SCH Physics Faculty), Christy Love (Drexel Physics Faculty), Rich Cairncross (Drexel Chemical Engineering Emeritus Faculty), and Peter Randall (SCH Engineering Emeritus Chair).
