The Brilliance Exchange Program provides an exciting opportunity for gifted students to collaborate with professionals in their field of interest. As a mentor, you will play a vital role in guiding students through a meaningful and enriching experience. Each mentor will be paired with three students, offering insight, feedback, and support throughout the project development process.
Mentorship Categories
Our mentorship program includes the following categories:
Language Arts (Reading, Writing)
STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, Math)
World Cultures (Social Studies, World Languages)
Visual Art/Creative-Productive Thinking
Moving Your Body (Performing Arts, Dance, Psychomotor)

Mentors will be matched with students based on their expertise and the students’ project focus.
Time Commitment & Expectations
Mentors will engage with students over a three-month period, providing guidance and expertise as students develop their projects. The mentorship includes:
One-hour online training (hosted by the SCD Enrichment Program team)
Three virtual student meetings
Session 1: Initial project demonstration and planning
Sessions 2 & 3: Project revisions and feedback
Participation in the Performance Symposium, where students present their projects
Collaborative Workshop at the Performance Symposium, where students, mentors, and judges discuss real-world applications of the projects
This structure ensures a valuable mentorship experience while being mindful of professional time commitments.
