Community Partners/Parents
Community Partners/Parents play a unique role in ensuring that students get the most out of the Performance Symposium. During the day on October 8th, 2026, we are inviting Community partners and parents to shadow and observe the project presentations, participate in our Mentor Advising Workshops and participate in a presentation on how SCD Enrichment Programming is changing the identification process in the state of Colorado.
Overview of Community Partner Performance Symposium Participation
After the main morning session of the symposium, Community Partners will be divided into groups and began observing each category and their performances. You will have a guide/volunteer leading you from room to room to see the presentations. Observations forms can be found here, and will be printed.
After presentations, the students, their mentors and the judges will participate in an Advising Workshop, where the adults will support the students in advising how their projects can be used in the real world or if their projects have any implications for future development in that field. Community Partners/ Parents will be shadowing/observing each classroom again and adding to conversations to support the student's development.
After the Advising Workshops, all Community Partner/Parents will convene for a presentation for our impact report, highlighting the successes of SCD Enrichment Program, the Overview of gifted identification for underrepresented students in our state, and the impact of the The Brilliance Exchange on gifted identification in Colorado.
The Performance Symposium will end with a Panel discussion which will include how we can improve gifted education, and the importance of bridging professional industries with education to create a dynamic future workforce. The audience will participate in a question and answer dialouge discussion.
