Hello and welcome to fifth grade at Spring Creek Elementary School!
A little bit about me-I have been teaching since 2004 and spent 16 of those years teaching fourth grade at Easterly Parkway Elementary School-just a few miles down the road! This is my third year at Spring Creek Elementary in Fifth Grade and I love our school community. I was born and raised in Michigan and received my teaching education and credentials from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. I also have a Master of Science in Library Science degree from Clarion University and have been working on a second Masters in Instructional Technology.
My family and I moved to beautiful Pennsylvania from our last home in Cold Springs, Nevada in June of 2007. Yes, we've moved across the country more than once! My husband, Scott, is retired after a long career with the Justice Department; our son, Brett, is 29 years old and also works for the Justice Department; and our daughter, Emma, is 27 years old and is a Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery Department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. We have one granddaughter named Collins, who is now 18 months old and the apple of our eye!
We have three pampered cats named Tigger (orange and white), Niko (cream and tan), and Jadie (black). In typical cat fashion, they think they own the place and we humans are only here for their pleasure and amusement!
Some of my passions are spending time with family, reading, traveling, and participating in lots of active adventures. We love to hike, bike, play pickleball, and golf just to name a few.
I can't wait to meet and get to know you all. It's going to be an awesome year in Room 214!
