Global Entrepreneurship Challenge

2021-2022 was a pilot year for our partnership with international schools. We worked with several schools across the world- a school in Hong Kong, one in Italy and two schools in the United States. We shared our entrepreneurship challenge with these pilot schools and asked that their students find local problems related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals-specifically around four problem areas: equity, wellness, sustainability, or disability. Students were encouraged to go through an iterative process similar to the Lean Startup Model (Build, Test, Learn) and Design Thinking. We facilitated four Zoom calls during the year. Students did some bonding exercises to learn more about one another and other cultures and then learned about the problems the student teams were examining. Students learned about other cultures' beliefs and practices and gave thoughts and feedbacks to one another. In the final call, student teams shared their final solutions and discussed their setbacks and breakthroughs.

In 2022-2023, we are working with more schools around the world on a shorter timeline to accommodate different calendar years. Students will participate in three Zoom calls with our partner schools throughout the year and in April, 2023, we will host student teams at Scarsdale for a Global Pitch Night. We are excited to announce that we will be working with Amir Dossal, President and CEO of the Global Partnerships Forum – a not-for-profit knowledge platform providing changemakers with tools to build innovative partnerships for the UN SDGs.
