Read and annotate (mark up) the typed text, "The Penny Tree." Take bullet-point notes on slide #3 to share with a reading partner tomorrow. Due tomorrow/Tues., 9/16 (E).
Answer this question on slide #4: How does Jack (the big brother) feel about his “penny tree” idea at the beginning of the story, and how do his feelings change by the end? Use at least two examples from the story to explain how his thoughts or feelings change. Due Wed., 9/17 (F) but, if you want, you may start to answer this question tonight.
