Dear Third Graders- 

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! My name is Mrs. DeGrazia, and I am excited to be your teacher this year at Heathcote.  I am looking forward to a great year in third grade with you! I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and I cannot wait to hear about your awesome adventures! Third grade is filled with amazing learning opportunities. You are going to love your new class.

I spent the summer with my husband and our 3 children; Capri (17), Joseph (16), Jessica (12) and my dog, Charlie (4)! I enjoyed watching my daughter Jessica compete in swim and Joseph was playing baseball most of July.  We had many road trips this summer to Newport, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, upstate New York, and Martha's Vineyard. I saw a couple of concerts and Broadway shows in NYC. My daughter Capri is heading off to college at the end of the summer, and you will learn more about my family throughout the year.

I especially enjoyed my time reading some wonderful new books this summer. I look forward to hear about your summer experiences and the books that you have read as well.

Most of all, I am looking forward to meeting and learning more about YOU.  We will have an eventful and enriching year together! I have many wonderful things planned for this year. You will love being part of our third grade classroom activities. 

Have you given any thought to what you would hope to do and learn this school year? If not, please start to think about your hopes and dreams for our time spent together this year. 

On the first day of school please bring in a photograph of yourself. If possible, I would recommend bringing in a copy (not the original) of the photograph. We will be using this photograph for our class bulletin board throughout the year. Also, please come to the first day of school with your school supplies (supply list is on the "HOME" page on our Google Site). We will spend some time organizing them in class. Lastly, you will need a snack, lunch and water bottle everyday.

Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation. I can't wait to meet you on August 31st!
