Birthdays

Birthdays are very special! In accordance with the district’s allergy policy, birthdays will be celebrated without refreshments.

I like birthdays to be a way for your child to share what is special to them! There are two ways for this to happen.

One is by bringing in a "Birthday Bag." This is a special bag that you can fill up with 5 items that are special to you. See the list below for some ideas :) Then on your birthday, you will present the items to the whole class and have an opportunity to answer questions about your items.

Another way to share your special items is to create a video at home. I ask that your child record a short video of themselves sharing 5 special and meaningful items they would like to show their classmates. You can then email your teacher that video on the day of their birthday or the Friday before their birthday (if their birthday is over the weekend), I can view it as a class from our Smart TV in the classroom.

This is a nice way to learn about one another while celebrating our birthdays and promoting a variety of language art skills.
