Happy February! This month we focus on healthy hearts, kindness, and self-care. With winter still in full swing, here are a few reminders to help keep our students healthy and learning!
Cold and Flu season are in full swing. Please help us prevent the spread of illness by keeping your child home if they have:
Fever 100 °F or higher (must be fever-free without medication for 24 hours to return)
Vomiting / Diarrhea within the past 24 hours
Difficulty Breathing
Undiagnosed Rash
Encourage frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and adequate hydration.
Nurse Kalata - Currently on Maternity Leave until the End of May 2026 - Please make sure to call the absence line when your child will be absent.
Kindness Counts
February also celebrates Kindness Week and Valentine’s Day — perfect opportunities to talk about caring for others. Encourage kindness, inclusion, and friendship at school and at home. A kind word or smile can make someone’s day!
National Heart Month
Encourage your child (and yourself!) to show their heart some love:
Be active every day (dancing, jumping rope, playing outside!)
Eat colorful fruits and veggies
Limit sugary snacks and drinks
Get plenty of rest
Even small changes can make a big difference in heart health!
Winter Weather Safety
Make sure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor play — warm coats, hats, and gloves are important for comfort and safety.
