Scottsbluff Public Schools - Every Child, Every Day
Hello,
I am Miss Keim. I teach English 10, Beginning Journalism, newspaper, and yearbook here at Scottsbluff High School. I was born and raised in Bridgeport, Nebraska. I fell in love with reading and writing from a young age as it was part of cherished time I had with my close knit family. As I went through high school, my love for reading grew due to dedicated and passionate teachers who inspired me to become a teacher myself. I went to Chadron State College to pursue my teaching career where I graduated with my undergraduate degree. I am currently in my eighth year of teaching at Scottsbluff High School, and I enjoy the opportunities provided to teachers and students at this wonderful high school. Some of my hobbies include reading, hiking, baking, and painting. My favorite book genres include dystopian, romance, sci-fi, and fantasy. I enjoy watching cooking shows and baking with my family members. A huge part of my life is my pets! I have three dogs and two cats! As I continue to grow personally and professionally, I am constantly influenced by the younger generation and their passion, intelligence, and creativity.
I am looking forward to meeting you!

SHS Class Period Attendance Policy
Students who fail to attend a class without a parent/guardian contact within the first 48 hours of the absence occurring will be coded as a “No Contact,” or “NC” within Infinite Campus. Students who accrue 15 “No Contact” absences within a single class period are in jeopardy of losing credit for their class.
Parents/guardians will receive a call from the school at 5, 10, and 15 days informing them of the
“No Contact” absences. Once the student accrues 15 “No Contact” absences, the parent/guardian and student will be given the following options:
● The student may stay in the course for no credit, but they will be eligible for a credit recovery course upon completion of the in-person class.
● The student can elect to transfer immediately to an initial-credit online course.
● Or, the student may petition for the loss of credit and stay in the course if the student is passing or close to passing. This will require a meeting initiated by the student and parent/guardian with the counselor, teacher, and administration to develop an attendance plan requiring the student to attend all remaining class periods. The student will only be allowed to petition one time during a semester per course.
