Hi Bearcats, I’m Mrs. Hannah Liptac! I am a Scottsbluff High School graduate, a mama to three amazing kids, and the Culinary Arts teacher at SHS. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as well as an Associate of Science degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the Art Institute of Colorado.
I spent ten years working in the Hospitality and Restaurant industry in various capacities, from fine dining restaurants, to large scale catering, to upscale dessert catering, to event planning and production. While I had a wonderful time exploring the industry in Lincoln and Denver, I've always been strongly tied to my family roots, and thus decided to move to Scottsbluff in 2016. Though it was never my intention to teach, I can say entering my ninth year at Scottsbluff High School that I feel I have found my true passion! There is nothing I love more than building relationships with my students through the world of culinary arts.
In room 51A, you can take classes such as Food & Wellness, Advanced Foods, and professional level classes like ProStart 1 & 2. We explore nutrition, safety and sanitation, global foods, the food industry, cooking skills, and so much more! One of my favorite things we do is compete in high level cooking competitions with schools across the state. The past three years, SHS teams have qualified to represent Nebraska at the National ProStart Invitational, and traveled to Washington, D.C and Baltimore. I can't wait to have you in class!
