It's Thursday, February 14th, and the 9th night the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Tonight is the Montecito Award, which "recognizes an individual who gave the performance of their career in film this past year". And the individual being recognized is JEFFREY WRIGHT, from the film "American Fiction".
On the red carpet tonight are TEEN PRESS reporters EMMA & MAX, who get to interact with a bushel of filmmakers, and the honoree himself!
After spending time on State Street with fans, and then with the SBIFF interviewer, there was little time for the reporters at the end of the red carpet. Banding together, all the student groups were allowed to ask one question...
Here our reporters introduce the evening, and with the help of the SBIFF House Crew (YTS Films), get a glimpse of the pre-red carpet action, and a preview of the honoree.
MAX & EMMA query the producer of a documentary about a renowned cinematographer, entitled "A Look Through His Lens", AUTUMN MacINTOSH.
MAX & EMMA spend a minute with horseman & actor GOLDEN GARNICK about the film "Above & Within", on the Santa Barbara Narrative Shorts program.
Here they enjoy a hilarious few moments with actor JANE KACZMAREK, talking about her film "And Now I Lay Me Down".
After speaking with TV star JANE KACZMAREK, MAX & EMMA get to find out more about the film "And Now I Lay Me Down" from other members of the cast, SHEENA NEALSON, DAVID GUERRA, and ALEJANDRA FLORES.
MAX & EMMA get to talk about the documentary "841", about a militant otter, with the director and producer of the film, RACHEL BURNETT & MACIELLE VILLASEÑOR.
EMMA & MAX talk with filmmakers from the Santa Barbara Narrative Shorts program, NAJEE WERNERS & NIGEL SUAREZ about their film "Someone Lied on the Roommate Form".
