Given our fast-paced society and individual responsibilities, it is a challenge to be mindful. Each day brings about its own anxieties and obstacles. However, learning to be more present in the moment, can help to alleviate stressors and lead to a healthier life.
Being mindful simply means paying attention in a particular way. Mindful.org notes that "mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us." Mindfulness is for EVERYONE! It is not a religion.
As the picture illustrates, "Is your Mind Full or are you Mindful?" We can work at it! It takes practice! You can practice with the videos at Mission Be Mindfulness or at Calm.com. Find what works for you!
The 12 Bite-Sized Mindfulness Activities outlines 12 days of mindfulness. These 12 days focus on positivity, awareness, focus, calm and emotional intelligence. Follow the plan and notice the effects on your mood and attitude. Take note of how you feel.
