Before applying to adopt, please note that all of our homes must understand that adopting a dog is a commitment to that pet for the entirety of it's life. All our homes must also have a plan for continuous training and socialization, and all members of the household must be aware and on board with the potential of adopting a dog.

Sway is our sweet and special boy. As one of our first saves for 2025, this precious boy came into our care when one of our Texas partners made us aware of him. It is believed that he was thrown from a moving vehicle. He was found by local animal control with a bump on his head an irregular gait.
From his injury, he suffered a traumatic brain injury causing him to have an irregular gait and have a head “sway.” Don’t let his past fool you, he is just as capable as any other dog. He is currently being fostered with multiple dogs and keeps up just fine. Due to his injury, we are still trying to figure out how well he can hear to continue to teach him basic commands.
Sway has attended some physical therapy sessions where he worked on his gait and we learned he has partial hearing loss in his left ear. With that, Sway is not required to continue physical therapy but his initial evaluation notes will be insightful for his family.
Sway is a recent graduate of a board and train program in which he worked on his neutrality around other dogs. Sway is playful and enjoys learning from his doggy friends but needs support during introductions.
Sway is truly a special boy and though an unfortunate incident caused by the hands of humans left him with a new normal, we believe his perfect home is out there. This guy is happy, smart and loves everyone he meets. With constant tail wags, he is sure to make anyone’s day better!
Trust us, Sway will steal your heart! Apply today!

While our focus is typically on networking dogs from Texas, we couldn't turn away from this Louisiana litter brought to our attention by one of our board members.
Danita and her family discovered these puppies playing dangerously close to a road in an area known for animal dumping. Recognizing the risk, they immediately took the puppies in.
Now, Gumbo is ready to find his forever home. Gumbo completed a board and train program where he established the foundations of training. He will need a home that can provide him routine, structure, and set expectations. Just like kids, Gumbo thrives when he knows what is expected of him.
In his foster home Gumbo loves snuggling, playing outside, and hanging with the fam. He is food motivated and loves to learn.
Ready for a new best friend? Apply for Gumbo today!
