We understand adding a pet into the home takes a lot of preparation and consideration, which is why we are here to help you along the way.
At Saving Sully, we believe our dogs choose us, so being open-minded about our adoption process is a must.
We look for adopters who have the true heart of rescue and just want to help save a life.
The Road to Forever.
Our adoption process consists of an application that is processed by our team, follow-up questions to ensure you are serious about adopting and the commitment it takes to bring a rescue dog home, and finally a meet and greet for all approved applicants where you get to meet your new best friend.
Understanding these animals have experienced trauma is important, so a patient and loving environment is the perfect home for our dogs. Bringing a new dog home is exciting, but can also be stressful for that dog; it is imperative our adopters understand the proper methods of meeting new dogs and people, the importance of decompression time, and that they feel comfortable reading a dog's behavior and know potential triggers before bringing a dog home.
Before applying, please be sure all the following are met:
Make sure everyone living in the home is on board with the potential of adopting
Only apply if you are in the position of being able to adopt a dog right now
If you rent, please contact your landlord before applying
If you have current pets, please contact your Veterinarian and let them know you will be applying to adopt
Apply for a specific dog, but be open to being matched with a different dog if our team feels there is a better fit
Only apply if you understand adopting a dog is a commitment to that dog for the entirety of its life
You have a plan for continued training and socialization
