About the Department

Electrochemistry provides an exciting opportunity to study a wide range of chemical processes at surfaces and interfaces. The Department of Electrochemistry was established in January 2022, seeks to provide fundamental, theoretical, and experimental knowledge to bachelor and doctoral students. The basics and applications of electrochemistry are studied by the research groups in our department, resulting in interdisciplinary research topics across Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Material sciences. We have faculties and enthusiastic research scholars to synthesize and characterize novel nanomaterials and polymer-based composites as electrocatalysts for energy conversion, storage, and electrochemical sensor applications.

In addition to these specific electrochemical applications, our research groups are also investigating the photocatalytic properties of novel nanostructures in various chemical syntheses and the degradation of harmful pollutants from environmentally important samples. Our research groups are taking the challenge to investigate the connection between the photo and electrocatalytic behavior of the micro and nanostructures by tuning the surface morphology and the elemental composition of the catalysts. As an emerging department with energetic researchers, we are open to collaborating with academic and industrial partners to address new research challenges.

“TO BE A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF ELECTROCHEMISTRY”
