Mayville Next Edition is a group of 5th-8th-grade students directed by Gabriela Twigg, a show band directed by J.D. Cooney, and choreographed by Sidney Daley, Tristin Duley, and Serenity Mahoney. Rehearsals for their competitive season begin in the summer, where they spend three weeks learning the show. Then they continue to prepare for their competitive season by rehearsing twice a week starting in October. This year, the group will be performing selections from the musical 13. This show presents the struggles of becoming a teenager, navigating friendships, and middle school crushes. Songs include Thirteen, Opportunity, Bad Bad News, A Little More Homework, and Brand New You. They perform at New London, Sauk Prairie, and Fort Atkinson this season.
