“The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking.”
– Albert Einstein
Hi! My name is James Seager and I am a sixth year teacher here at the Gilmanton School. I grew up in Gilford and went through the Gilford School system. I grew up in a busy house with two brothers and a sister accompanied by at least three dogs at all times. I played multiple sports in high school, which ultimately lead me to Husson University where while majoring in Life Sciences: Secondary Education I played Division III college lacrosse. When I graduated Husson in the fall of 2015, I had earned my degree in teaching high school science while also earning the award of Intercollegiate Academic All-American from the USILA for my performances on the lacrosse field and in the classroom.
In the science classroom I believe that hard work always pays off and a positive attitude goes a very long way. I am very passionate about students thinking critically for themselves and making a difference in this world when they grow up. In my class, I encourage students to think on a global scale, rather than simply what's going on in the town of Gilmanton. I feel students need to become global citizens who are scientifically literature, so when they see a problem in the "real-world" they can think about it scientifically and make an educated scientific decision.
