Examples of work by students at FHS in Mrs. McCracken's classes.
CONNECTIONS:
Mrs. McCracken and FHS have been making connections with local universities and groups.
In 2021-2022 Mrs. McCracken started engaging our students with Boston College and Glenn Gaudette's Lab, located in this brand new building!
Our most common visitor is Mike Harrison from Great Bay Community College. Mr. Harrison comes in to Mrs. McCracken's electronics classes regularly to assist with advanced electronics concepts and also with coding.
Mrs. McCracken is working with the UNH Tech for Teachers group and UNH's Tech Camp for students.
Maine College of Art, Mrs. McCracken's alma mater for her BFA, has been kind enough to do multiple workshops for our Advanced Metalsmiths/Jewelers. They have been very generous with their donation of time, information and supplies!
Code.org and EducateMaine have also been very generous with their workshops, classes and supplies they have given FHS!
Examples from class work. Handmade chain from Metalsmithing & Jewelry student. Tree photo by Intro. to Digital Photography student. Cookie Cutter designed and made by 3d Modeling student and students working with electronics for Girls STEAM Day 2017!
