Curriculum

The curriculum we teach in the Rochester School District is connected to the Common Core State Standards and follows the Rochester School District Competency Based Learning. This will direct you to the NH Department of Educations page on the Common Core State Standards.

Reading/ Language Arts:

Here at East Rochester we use the CKLA Core Knowledge Language Arts. With this program students will read a different stories every week working on a variety of skills from comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, phonics, grammar, etc.

Math:

Our math work is taken from the Everyday Mathematics program. This program consists of daily lessons, games, and homework which students will work with. Topics we will focus on this year in 4th grade include working with data, multiplication and division, decimals, estimation, fractions, and many more topics.

Social Studies:

In Social Studies we use the Harcourt Brace Social Studies book which focus on regions of the United States. We also focus on New Hampshire History in 4th grade.

Science:

In Science we use the Scott Foresman Science book along with following NH state curriculum standards.
