Those First Few Days
3 Things We Did Today - August 29, 2019
1. Today was our first day and it was FANTASTIC! We met each other and have started getting to know one another. We took a tour of the school and met all the specialists. We had Music today!
2. We read 2 awesome books: "School's First Day of School" and "Chrysanthemum." Both generated some amazing conversations! We personalized locker doors with kid-made nametags.
3. We started an amazing project to bring some color and personalization into our classroom- shredded paper names! These will take a few blocks to finish but they are going to be gorgeous and will really stand out in our room.
Something extra: We had an all-school assembly with our principal, Mrs. Fowler! She complimented all of the students on their excellent listening and participation skills!

3 Things We Did Today - August 30, 2019
1. We had our first fire drill! The kids did an outstanding job getting out of the building safely and quietly!
2. The class met our band teacher, Mr. Adam Wallis. They got to spend time hearing about and trying out the instruments. Band instrument rental night will be September 10, 2019!
3. We finished our first class project - name art! Wow, do they look gorgeous! The kids worked diligently and through the process, noticed the work of others and did not hold back compliments!
Something extra: Fourth graders had their own school assembly with Mrs. Fowler! They got to hear all about Wing Awards, Golden Trash Can, Zeus and Mini Zues, plus several other wonderful things about HUES!
