At the primary level, technology integration creates opportunities for young learners and teachers to explore, collaborate, and create in meaningful ways. Using developmentally appropriate tools, students engage in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that support both problem-solving and project-based learning. Technology is thoughtfully woven into core subjects to deepen understanding and spark curiosity, while also encouraging critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration.
The Technology Integration Specialist researches, models, and supports the use of effective digital tools that enrich classroom instruction. Foundational skills such as logging in, navigating with a mouse or trackpad, using a keyboard, word processing, safe browsing, and practicing digital citizenship are introduced, reinforced, and practiced regularly to build student confidence and independence in a digital world.
