Program Overview:
The Graduation Pathways program at Merrimack High School exists to provide all Merrimack Students a pathway towards a robust, enriching high school education. Part of this commitment includes offering an Adult Diploma option to students who can benefit from different educational opportunities outside of traditional school hours, and through non-traditional courses. This program will not only benefit current students, but it also provides a way for students without a high school diploma to transfer their credits to the Adult Diploma Program to earn a high school diploma at Merrimack High School.
The Adult Diploma is governed by rules set forth by the New Hampshire Department of Education and is not subject to the same requirements for a diploma set down by a district's School Board. It is important to note that this is a DIPLOMA and not an alternative program such as the Hi-Set or GED. Students who are not daytime students at MHS will receive a diploma at separate graduation ceremony in June. Current daytime MHS students who earn an Adult Diploma from Merrimack High School may choose to walk in the traditional MHS Graduation in June, or the separate Adult Diploma ceremony.
Costs:
Non-MHS Students: $150 for a 15-week, full credit course. $80 for an 8-week, 1/2 credit course.
There are some need-based scholarships available through the Program Director. Payment is due by the start of the first class.
MHS Students: A current, daytime MHS student does not need to tuition into an Adult Diploma Course. Exception: A student who does not pass a course due to not adhering to the attendance policy may have to tuition into their next class. The Graduation Pathways Director can waive this requirement
