Hopkinton XC Festival Recap, Results, Pics, Etc...
Another big day for EHS XC! The day began with the girls varsity race putting on a dominating performance and winning the team title with 51 points. They averaged 18:39 as a team and were first by 32 points. 9 out of the top 10 teams in the state showed up to this one, so this was a statement victory for the Blue Hawks. Lexi led the way with a staggering 16:54 course record run, marking her first time under 17:00. Bri finished in 4th with a great time of 17:54. Both of these times would have finished in the top 10 at the College New England Championships the day before. Lexi was 1 second off the College 5K course record...!
The girls JV team also had a great race. Just barely losing to PEA by 2 points, Elliana York did not worry about this being her first 5K of the season, running 20:44 and winning the race by 16 seconds. Aubrey had an impressive race herself, running 21:00 and placing 2nd OA (maybe the rented spikes helped?)
The boys varsity team ran a gutsy race and finished 7th OA. They were 5th in NH and 2nd in D1. This race also featured 9 out of the top 10 teams in the state, so the Blue Hawks have a lot to be proud of! Thanks to a 1:10 5-Man spread, the Blue Hawks still have room to grow despite a successful result. Logen and Colby led the way with a 16:16 and a 16:39 finish.
The boys JV team also ran a great race! They finished 4th overall and were led by Wyatt and Alex who finished 6th and 7th overall.

The EHS Girls Varsity and JV teams won the meet, while our boys were third overall in the varsity race and 4th overall in the JV race. This was another great weekend for EHSXC
Lexi broke a 9 year old course record, running 17:34 for the win. Bri ran 18:18, which was only 9 seconds off the previous course record and finished 3rd.
The JV Girls race was dictated by our strong pack with Claire, Aubrey, Casey and Abby finishing within the top 10. Caroline Bowie's 14th finishe sealed the deal for the Blue Hawks as they scored an impressive 37 points against a talented field.
Logen appeared to have a breakout race at Black Bear, running 16:45 and finishing 5th OA. Colby Orleans, who keeps improving, helped EHS in the team scoring with his new 17:17 5K PR.
In the JV race, Nolan made a massive leap and finished 3rd OA with a 18:28 time.

It's safe to say that this was one of EHS XC's best days in a long time. The complete day of racing offered many moments that EHS XC should be proud of. The day started with Elliana York placing 3rd in the Freshman Girls race and EHS XC Freshman placing 5th as a team. In the next race, we saw unbelievable teamwork and resiliency between Nolan Goldrick and Alex Hodsdon in the Freshman Boys race. Alex would ultimately finish first for EHS, placing 2nd OA, while Nolan quickly followed in 3rd, running a gritty race up front. The boys finished 6th!
In the JV "C" races, EHS girls put on a show scoring 28 points and placing their top 5 finishers in the top 20. Led by Lexi Pacelli, EHS finished 4-6-7-16-18 and beat a strong Needham, MA program to win the JV C race. On the boys side, we saw improvement across multiple races, with Dakota Goodwin leading the EHS JV C team to a 13th place finish.
In the JV "B" races, EHS girls executed a great team approach early on, establishing themselves up front early and leading the way to a dominating victory of 39 points to Needham, MA' 88. Claire Wilhelm and Aubrey Zaimes led EHS in 5th and 6th OA, and Abby Riccio finished 10th in her first ever 5,000M race! The boys, with just 5 finishers, finished 5th overall and saw improvement, as well! They were led by Keller Johnston
Varsity Girls ran later in the day and finished 3rd OA behind a strong Lexington, MA team and a phenomenal Cumberland, RI team (they finished 2nd at the New England Championships last year). Scoring 101 points, EHS was led by Lexi Paterna who set a meet and course record in 17:56.7. She is one of the few student-athletes to ever break 18 on the challenging Derryfield Park course. Bri also ran a gutsy race, finishing 8th overall. EHS had strong performances from Izzie Bremer and Molly Kells in 18th and 38th but surprised some people with their depth as Austin Williams, Lena McRae and Ashleigh MacEachern all came in toegether, separated by 3 seconds, in 41st, 42nd and 45th.
The Varsity Boys finished the day with a performance that surprised many people in NH. Previously ranked 10th in the state, EHS finished 2nd in Division 1 and 5th in all of NH. Led by Logen Poteet and EHS Track & Field stand out Colby Orleans, helped the boys finish 8th overall. It was a great day to be a Blue Hawk!
2025 Fall Season
New England Championships Meet Recap, Results, Pics, Etc.
In one of the most thrilling races of the season, Lexi led a majority of the New England Championship race, running away from the best runners in CT, RI, VT, ME and NH. Her and fellow Granite Stater Maddy Lane finished in a staggering 18:29, where Lexi finished 2nd overall. This is the 2nd highest Exeter finish in the program's history. Bri came in soon after, finishing 19th and earning All-New England honors. The girls ran a gutsy race on a tough course, finishing their team season 12th overall among all New England states. Molly, Izzie, Ashleigh, Aubrey and Madie demonstrated team-running and a gritty attitude throughout the entire 5K!
Logen was our only qualifier in the Boys Championship race and he did not disappoint. After running 18:05 a month ago at Thetford, Logen cruised a 17:41 for 73rd place. He was the 19th NH finisher, which is an improvement on the last two weeks! He has a bright future ahead of him!
NH Meet of Champions Meet Recap, Results, Pics, Etc.
Lexi set the tone from the gun and dominated the meet running 17:05, which is a course record at Alvirne HS by 19 seconds! Bri finished 4th overall and only lost to the D1, D2 and D3 State Champions in the race. Molly, Izzie Ashleigh, Madie and Aubrey ran super strong races as a supporting cast earning EHS a 3rd place finish in the state, 1 point behind 2nd place overall. The girls will be competing at New Englands this upcoming weekend as a result of their 3rd place finish in the state!
Logen had a great race, running sound from the gun. With great mile splits throughout, Logen inserted himself in the top 25 and never moved. With a 23rd place finish, Logen will advance to the New England Championships next weekend.
NH D1 Championship Recap, Results, Pics, Etc.
Lexi Paterna is your Division 1 State Champion! With the fastest time of the day, Lexi beat the competitive field by 1 minute, running 18:40 for the win. Bri wasn't far behind her, finishing 3rd overall. A massive improvement from last year when she was 9th.
Molly and Izzie ran with ferocity and ambition, finishing a staggering 11th and 14th overall. Ashleigh rounded out the scoring 5 with a 29th finish, a respectable place to be in her first D1 Championship.
Logen finished 23rd overall and qualified for the Meet of Champions!
D1 JV State Championships Meet Recap - Results, Etc.
The EHS Girls scored a STAGGERING 18 points, putting 8 in the top 10 and 10 in the top 15 to dominate the JV State Championships
Aubrey Zaimes won the race in a Meet Record (when held at Alvirne HS) and was followed by Claire, Madeline R, Celia and Lena to secure the title. Most of our student-athletes in this race ran a personal best to end their season on a high note!
The EHS Boys got 3rd overall and were 2 points out of 2nd overall! This is a massive improvement from last year's race where the EHS boys finished 9th. It is a testament of their hardwork all summer and Fall.
Noah Melendy led the Blue Hawks with a strong 6th place finish, running 1 full minute faster than last year! Congratulations to all of the boys who had such a successful season.

The EHS Girls retained their #2 rank in the state after a strong performance at Woods Trail Run in Thetford, VT, where they placed third losing only to the 14th ranked school Nationally, CVU and the #1 ranked team in CT, Glastonbury
The EHS Boys moved from #10 to #9 after a strong run at Woods Trail Run.

Girls JV 'C' started the day strong, yet again, putting 4 runners in the top 10. Led by Casey (4th OA), the EHS girls would have competed well for a team win had the JV C race been scored
Chris P did a phenomenal job leading the Boys JV 'C' race finishing 22nd OA
Girls JV 'B' finished 3rd OA, led by Madeline R and a fast 4th place finish.
Noah and Jacob led the Boys JV 'B' race finishing 22nd and 31st, respectively!
Girls Varsity saw 174 competitors in one of the most competitive races of the season. Champlain Valley, VT (ranked 13th Nationally), Cumberland, RI and Hanover, NH are all teams vying for a New England Championship run. Exeter placed respectively in 6th led by a strong 2nd place finish from Lexi. Bri, who finished 17th, also walked away with a medal for being Top 25.
Boys Varsity saw even more competition with 236 competitors. Last year, our BV team finished 25th overall. This weekend, they finished 17th with an even tighter 5-Man gap. Xavier and Henry finished well to make sure all 5 of our guys got to the finish line, helping our team score significanty!

JV Girls dominated the race, putting 5 In the top 10 and 7 In the top 20. Aubrey Zaimes came away with her first Cross Country victory!
JV Boys ran a tough, gutsy race without some of their fellow JV boys who raced hard on Tuesday In Concord
Varsity Girls won their first major Invitational of the year, scoring 44 points and finishing 2-5-11-12-14. Ashleigh MacEachern, In her first ever Cross Country race, closed out our scoring 5 with a 20:17 PR.
Varsity Boys mixed It up with the big dogs and finished with an Impressive :47 5-man gap. Led by Logen, Marcus and Ian, the boys finished 4th overall and 8 points out of 3rd! Shout out to Henry, who was the 2nd overall freshman In the entire field!
