Collaboration

the action of working with someone to produce or create something

The whole point of collaboration is that you give and take from each other, and that's how you create things that are totally new. Collaboration brings people together, helps us problem-solve, opens new channels of communication and boosts morale. Under this unusual learning situation, our community of artists have had to find ingenious ways to collaborate. They have had to hurdle the absence of the classroom and the fuel that inspires the creative soul.

They have!

Creative collaborations that come from thinking "outside the box" and can generate astounding versions of the human spirit. It challenges people to think, articulate and receive clarity about their competencies. It serves as a mirror that gives them a glimpse of their strengths and weaknesses. Because two heads are better than one, many artists work better together and plug each other's gaps.

As you navigate through life, be open to collaboration. Find people who challenge and inspire you and experience the amazing changes in your life.

Students collaborated in the creation of the behind the scenes work, happenings and goings on!!

Our grade 8 students in Auburn, were moments away from stepping out on stage!

This video speaks to the countless hours students put forth, behind the scenes, in order to bring to life their productions!!

The Auburn archival group presentation which was going to be shared before the musical on the night students were to perform for their parents. The entire musical was student lead: the directing of the actors, the sound, lighting, backstage operation, make up and choreography. Several 8th grade students moved forward into leadership roles and executed their jobs with aplomb. Our UA team facilitated the learning and supported the development of skills necessary for a large group collaboration. As teachers, we take great pride in the fact that we could stand back and watch as the students ran the entire production on their own. Sadly for our 8th grade students, we found out the day before we were to present our night performance to the parents, that the show had been cancelled.
