Birthday Celebrations

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year birthday recognitions will be “food free”. Teachers wishing to honor children’s birthdays can find more appropriate and healthy ways of doing so. We appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to reflect on how to provide all students with a safe and healthy environment.

Birthdays are special for everyone, especially young children! The excitement builds as the day approaches. We, as first grade teachers, want to share in their pleasure. They will be the star of the day! Your child will be identified as the ‘Birthday Child’ by wearing a birthday crown for all to see. The student proudly wears their crown and accepts the HAPPY BIRTHDAY messages from the school community. If you would like to add to your child’s special day, we invite you to send in a book from home to be shared with the class. Your child can read it to us, we will read it to everyone.
