Hello Underhill families!
My name is Carly Wentzell and I'm the new school counselor and 504 Case Manager here at Underhill School. I was a school counselor in Northern Vermont for my first five years, and I am excited to be back in New Hampshire and to build relationships with your learners! As the school counselor, my role is to help students develop social/emotional skills. These foundational skills are imperative to student learning - helping them build meaningful relationships with peers and adults, building confidence and self-esteem, and having the skills to solve problems as they arise.
During the school year, I support the building of social/emotional skills in a few different ways. I teach Friendship classes every Monday in a 3-week rotation, I provide short-term, solution-focused meetings with individual students or small groups, and I collaborate with teachers and families. My goal is to help students realize their full potential as a learner, a friend, and an overall wonderful kid!
I look forward to being a part of your child's journey here at Underhill! I am a resource for students, staff, and families alike. Please feel free to reach out if you need anything!
