3 Day Schedule

This year, Hooksett Memorial School has moved to a 3 Day Schedule . You will hear your child talk about Day A, Day B, & Day C.  On Day A, our class will have Science with me.  On Day B, our class will have Social Studies with Mrs. McLain.  On Day C, our class will have Enrichment with Mrs. Pasqual.  See below for what student will be doing in each of these subjects.

What's New in Science

Topics Covered in Third Grade

Engineer - Students will employ the engineering and design process: Ask - Imagine - Plan - Create - Improve

Patterns - Students will recognize patterns and make connections and predictions in nature.

Cause & Effect - Students will explain cause and effect relationships, make predictions and support evidence-based claims about change.

Models - Students will develop and use models in order to describe a system and how its parts function together.

What's New in Social Studies

Topics Covered in Third Grade

Civic Engagement: Students will explain ways citizens participate and solve problems in their school.

Civics & Government: Students will identify the purpose of rules and laws and recognize one's responsibilities as a member of their community.

Economics: Students will explain the role of money in relation to the exchange of goods and services within a community.

Geography: Students will recognize and explain geographic features and how they influence life in our community.

History: Students will recognize events, individuals, and groups that affect our community and state.

What's New in Enrichment

Mrs. Pasqual will be starting the year with chromebook skills to get students comfortable on their chromebooks.  After, Mrs. Pasqual will focus on some skills from the reading and math programs to enrich parts of these programs that we don't normally get to.  Along the way, students will also work on extension projects through the year.
