An Individual Student Referral connects your team with SASED’s specialists to assess and support the needs of a specific student. This may include conducting observations, gathering input from team members, and providing coaching on effective strategies to address behavior, academic challenges, and overall student engagement. Our team provides hands-on coaching, modeling, and targeted interventions in areas like behavior management, academic instruction, and communication strategies. Additionally, we support the development and implementation of individualized plans (e.g., Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans) and assist with re-evaluations and updates. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based strategies to support the student’s success in the classroom and beyond.
Individual Student Referral Services May Include:
Assessing problem behavior through observations and team/student interviews

Coaching on evidence-based academic strategies for individual students
Staff development on differentiation and modifications for individual students
Initial Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and follow-up coaching

BIP procedural integrity and fidelity implementation
Communication strategies specific to the individual student
