6th Grade Resources

For our students in 6th grade, we are recommending working on school work for four hours a week.

Here are a few tips on how to get you going:

  • Connect to online learning platforms

  • Connect with your teachers through email, video chat, or Canvas

Connect time and learning with a flexible schedule:

  • Set up a learning space

    • create a dedicated space for learning

    • make it comfortable and accessible (dining room table works!)

  • Decide on a schedule

    • be flexible as it will probably need to change

    • consider 20 min to 40 min chunks of learning a couple of times a day

    • build in downtime with and without screen time

    • include exercise and outside time

    • encourage creative outlets

  • Take advantage of academic support for enrichment outside of class lessons

    • resources: IXL for English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science, Imagine Math, Newsela, and Canvas
