Safety and Security Update

Emergency management plans are being reviewed and updated accordingly.

Currently interviewing for the open Sanger ISD Police Department Officer openings. Our goal is to have an officer stationed at SHS, and an officer stationed at SMS in addition to Chief Picha who will float between campuses.

construction Update

Project Manager Mr. Teems provided his monthly update to the board on the progress of construction for the bond projects.

The project for the new high school and field house will go to bid next month.
6 sealed proposals were received for the ag barn project
CCI is in the "summer slam" as they call it, knocking work out quickly
- the roof work will be finished later this week
- framing of the new administrative space is under way
- library has been painted and new carpet will be installed soon
- The fire suppression system has been installed throughout the campus

2023-2024 Board meetings

The board voted 6-0 to approve the regular monthly board meeting schedule for the 2023-2024 school year.

local leave policy

CFO Monica Herren presented for the board's consideration an update to the local leave policy. This update would add 3 days of bereavement leave for the death of an immediate family member. The board opted to have this item added as an action item at next month's board meeting.

Action items and other business

In keeping with normal board meeting affairs, the board heard financial reports from CFO Monica Herren and a teaching and learning update from Assistant Superintendent Jennie Flaa.

There were no speakers in open forum.

The board also reviewed and acted on several other items, approving the following with passing votes.

- Consent agenda: Passed 6-0
- Employee sheet: Passed 5-0-1
- Awarding AUI Partners Bid for the ag barn project: Passed 6-0
- Approved purchase of new ag truck: Passed 6-0
- Approved out of state travel for a cross country meet to Arkansas for SHS athletes: Passed 6-0
- Approved Annual Audit Engagement Letter for Hankins, Eastup, Deaton, Tonn & Seay: Passed 6-0
