The Environment

Lycée Jean Moulin - 13. - 19. November 2021

We worked on the theme "The Environment in Europe" with a focus on climate change and biodiversity during the 13th - 19th November 2021 in Langon, France.

The Human being is the only species that can have such an influence on the environment and all its components (except solar energy). Nowadays, with almost 8 billion humans on Earth, and in a few years with 10 billion, the pressure on the environment is getting stronger.

More and more people of all ages want to do something for the environment. They exchange good practices, they rediscover ancient practices dating back to before the Green Revolution in agriculture, the youngest ones walk for the climate.

At the same time, we are not ready to stop flying or using our smartphone... Since the environment is not just a country, we have to think on a European scale, and even on a global scale. We must ask ourselves what we can do individually but also what Europe does and can do. A European Green Deal is one of the 6 European commission priorities for 2019-2024. The policy areas are clean energy, sustainable industry, building and renovating, sustainable mobility, biodiversity, from farm to fork, eliminating pollution.

The T.I.M.E. project will propose different approaches, based on time (past, present, future) and scale (Europe, country, region, city, school, family). Connections will be made with the activities proposed by the other partners, such as food, traditions, travelling, arts and culture, science and jobs.
