Everything you need to know to use your student hub and more!
Address bar: a text box in a web browser displaying the address of the web page that is currently being viewed
URL: "Uniform Resource Locator" (also referred to as a web address) - This is the pathway to a website that can be found in the address bar and starts with "https://www." For example, the URL for Google Drive is https://www.google.com/drive.
Cursor: The arrow on your screen, controlled by your computer mouse or touch pad. You can also use a stylus or your finger on a touchscreen.
Select: Position your cursor at one end of the word, sentence or other text* you want to work with. Hold the left-click button** on your mouse and "drag" your cursor to the end of the text you are working with, then let go. This should create a temporary highlight over the text. *If you want to select an image, simply click on it once. **This can also be done with using your finger or a stylus on a touch screen.
Link: Data (usually a website) that you can follow by clicking or tapping.
Hyperlink: Same as a link, but the text/ image of the link is different from the website. For example, the "Student Hub Template" and "Sample" hyperlinks at the top of this page are hyperlinks. When you click on them, it takes you to the actual website or document.
