Q: What if my child needs to take medication at school?
A: A Medication Authorization Form signed by both a parent/guardian and a healthcare provider is required each school year. Medications must be brought to the health office by an adult in the original pharmacy container - with the appropriate label containing student and prescription information. See Health Forms
Q: When should I keep my child home from school?
A: Keep your child home if they have a fever (100.4Β°F or higher), vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious symptoms. They should be fever-free without medication for 24 hours before returning. See When to Stay Home Vs. Send To School
Q: What happens if my child becomes sick or injured at school?
A: Minor issues will be treated in the health office. If the situation requires further care or need to go home for the day, we will contact the parent/guardian using the information provided on the emergency card.
Q: How can I update my childβs health information?
A: You can contact the health office via in-person communication, email, phone, or below in the Contact Form. Please let us know right away if your child has a new diagnosis or medication.
Q: Are there health screenings during the year?
A: Yes! We offer vision, hearing, and dental screenings as part of routine school health services. Notices will be sent home in advance. See Health Screenings & Programs
Q: Can the school nurse diagnose or treat illnesses?
A: School nurses can assess symptoms and provide first aid but cannot diagnose conditions. For medical advice or treatment, please consult your childβs healthcare provider.
